You could be forgiven for not having heard of Saoirse before last summer. It was only then that the Irish-born DJ really broke through began to receive the plaudits she deserves.

After a series of breakout sets across Europe, most notably a performance at Gottwood where she effortlessly glided from techno into drum ‘n’ bass, the selector is finally receiving the kind of bookings appropriate for a DJ of her musical stature.

Saoirse spent her formative years DJing on Irish radio channel RTE. After relocating to London she earned a slot on Rinse.

With 15 years of digging under her belt, she's garnered a reputation for deep cuts and danceable grooves. She counts Ricardo Villalobos and Fred P among her various influences.

This hour-long mix, taken from her Rinse FM show on Wednesday, is a fine example of her dexterity as she moves from from squelchy minimal and electro to cosmic house and euphoric breakbeat.

Saoirse plays at Bristol’s Love Saves The Day on May 28 and at AVA Festival in Belfast which runs from June 2 to 4.
