EsDeeKid "nukes" The Chainsmokers' '4 Raws' remix from streaming services

"Don’t remix my shit and think it’s cool to post to all DSPs," the Scouse rapper said in a post on Twitter

The Chainsmokers' remix of EsDeeKid's hit single '4 Raws' has been removed from streaming services, after the Scouse rapper criticised the EDM duo over the unauthorised rework.

“That Chainsmokers remix is getting NUKED mate wow please," EsDeeKid said via Twitter on January 2. "Don’t remix my shit and think it’s cool to post to all DSPs.”

The remix, which was originally titled "EsDeeKid '4 Raws' (The Chainsmokers Remix)" when it was uploaded late last year, was promptly taken down from YouTube and SoundCloud following EsDeeKid's criticism. The Chainsmokers have not publicly commented on the removal.

'4 Raws' peaked at Number 23 in the UK singles chart in December, bolstered by a viral conspiracy that the elusive Merseyside rapper could in fact be Academy Award-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet.

On December 19, EsDeeKid and Chalamet poked fun at the internet rumours, teaming up on a new version of '4 Raws' that features bars from the Marty Supreme star, alongside an accompanying music video of the pair dancing together in a kitchen.

The Chainsmokers aren't the only EDM act to have tried their hand at remixing the single; Anyma played a rework of the track to Saudi audiences at controversial Riyadh-based festival MDLBeast Soundstorm on December 12.

Despite the chart and critical success of '4 Raws', which was released as part of EsDeeKid's debut album 'Rebel' last June, Anyma's reimagining was not as well received, with one Instagram user labelling a clip the "hardest watch of all time".
