Elon Musk wants to start a Tesla music streaming service

The platform would be the innovator's first step into the music industry

Tesla founder and star entrepreneur Elon Musk has announced in a recent Recode article that he has future prospects to launch a music streaming platform.

The branded music service would likely be available for its own customer base with no details on if owning a Tesla vehicle is mandatory for access.

Although he hasn't confirmed when or at what stage the service would launch, Musk elaborated that his company is already in discussion with major labels on licensing rights and that the platform would offer several tiers at multiple price points.

A Tesla representative also did not confirm or deny the plan to start a streaming platform, but responded: "We believe it’s important to have an exceptional in-car experience so our customers can listen to the music they want from whatever source they choose. Our goal is to simply achieve maximum happiness for our customers".
