Elderbrook (Eats Everything remix)
Kobalt sees a bumping new remix of 'Closer' out later this month
Alexander Kotz, more commonly known as Elderbrook, has had his fair share of success at just 22 years of age. Despite only just releasing his debut EP in 2015, Elderbrook has quickly supplied worthy follow-ups in the form of irresistible single after single. His latest is 'Closer', which released on August 12 on Kobalt.
Though the original may have found its strength in a paced, cinematic build and layers of folk-inspired and gospel-toned sounds, 'Closer' now finds a new, upbeat life thanks to a re-imagination from Eats Everything.
Bristol's very own Daniel Pearce is among the elite of the underground and arguably, one that might know the dancefloor best. Leave it to Eats to completely reinvent the calm, alluring atmosphere of the 'Closer' original and instead, seamlessly weave in a jumpy, bumping bass line throughout the mesmerizing chorus.
Despite its departure from the original's direction, Eats' 'Closer' remix stays true to Elderbrook's musical roots with a return to the jazz atmosphere thanks to a blaring brass break down that rounds out the remix.
Eats Everything's remix of 'Closer' is out on Kobalt later this month, but for now, have the first listen below.
