Dance music artists contribute to fundraiser compilation for Turkey and Syria
21 artists, including Wheats, East End Dubs and Chris Stussy, contribute to the V/A from London label Eastenderz
London-based record label Eastenderz has compiled tracks from 21 different producers as part of a fundraiser compilation aiding the people of Turkey and Syria following the devastating February 6 earthquakes.
The compilation includes tracks from the likes of Chris Stussy, Djebali, Wheats, Boss Priester, Priku, and label head East End Dubs. All of the money raised from the compilation will go directly to AHBAP, an NGO helping those affected by the crisis.
“Following the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, some of the leading producers in house music show their solidarity with this 21-track V/A fundraiser compilation,” East End Dubs posted on Instagram last week.
The money generated from the V/A will also help those who have lost their families and homes to the earthquake, with the current death toll as high as 42,000 across both Turkey and Syria as of February 16.
“The compilation will go on sale to support and raise money to help those who have recently lost their families and homes in this terrible tragedy,” added East End Dubs.
"Now more than ever is a time for unity, solidarity, and to support a nation that has been shaken. It's crucial for us to use our voice to create widespread awareness of the situation in Turkey and Syria, and to give our support in every way possible.”
Last week, nightclubs across Turkey called to action offering aid to those affected by the two consecutive earthquakes. A number of clubs in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir launched campaigns to gather essential supplies for those impacted. Search-and-rescue teams were also sent out across the provinces affected.
