Dundee man arrested following “unprovoked” attack at Glasgow club SWG3
The man was alleged to have attacked a punter before “kicking and punching” door staff
A man from Dundee, named 26-year-old Liam Mitchell, has been arrested after an altercation broke out at SWG3 in December.
Mithcell reportedly travelled to the Glasgow club from Dundee on December 2, 2023, for a friend’s birthday, but was refused entry.
According to Glasgow Times, Mitchell then approached a male and female punter standing outside the Eastvale Place club and attempted to punch the man unprovoked, but missed, hitting the woman’s arm.
After door security stepped in, Mitchell allegedly reacted by kicking her in the thigh and punching her in the head. More door staff stepped in and Mitchell was restrained.

Mitchell was reportedly placed in handcuffs by police officers but attempted to break free. He was restrained and taken to the floor, before attempting to kick a police officer and bite his thumb.
Glasgow Times reported that Mitchell sustained an injury to his head during the incident, and was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. He was later released.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed to Mixmag: "A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with an assault that took place in Eastvale Place, Glasgow on the evening of Saturday, 2 December, 2023. He was subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal."
On Wednesday, June 19, Liam Mitchell appeared in front of a judge at Glasgow Sheriff Court where he pleaded guilty to four charges, including assaulting a woman, a security guard, and two police officers.
Mitchell’s lawyer told the court that his client was “ashamed” of his behaviour and that alcohol and drugs were in part to blame.

“Whilst waiting in the queue he was offered an illicit substance,” his lawyer explained. “He took the tablet and that seems to have caused a bad effect as he became aggressive.”
“He was paranoid and scared thinking people were laughing and mocking him. He is thoroughly ashamed of his behaviour.”
Mitchell will remain on home arrest between the hours of 7:PM and 7:AM for 40 days. His lawyers confirmed that he has “no previous convictions”.
