Drax - 9/10

The 3rd Decade

If a record has Perc stamped on it then, nine times out of 10, you know exactly what you're in for: unrelenting, savage and bone-crushing electronic music. Whether it's his own productions or the tunes he puts out on his label Perc Trax, it's almost certainly going to knock you for six.

And Drax's 'The 3rd Decade', his first offering since 2002, is just as blood-curdling as you'd expect. 'Acid Brick', the opening gambit of this three-tracker, is a hellish ride through jagged riffs and pounding kicks. The equally grotesque yet highly entertaining 'Razorblade' follows, before 'Low Machine' slows things down slightly, but with a groove that's still as ferocious and tormented as the previous two cuts.

It's nasty, but we like it.
