Djrum

Intricate, brooding bass music from one of the best

For as long as he's been around, Djrum has been crafting intricate, brooding and mind-bending bass music that while sounding completely unique, still manages to bear his distinct style and grace.

His main label has been 2nd Drop and in 2013 he released his debut album 'Seven Lies', an LP so majestic and forward-thinking that we didn't stop listening to it for months-on-end.

He's returned to 2nd Drop for a trilogy of EP releases and they're just as deep and powerful as his previous works of art. The first part came out last month in the form of the 'Forgetting' EP and now he follows that up with the 'LA' EP.

We have the premiere of B-side 'Abandon Me' and it's seriously good, maybe even some of his best yet.

Ferocious, hurricane-esque drums rattle from the off and the synth riffs are warped and transcendent. The cut finds itself moving from staggered and wild to more focused and driving towards the end and that's part of its appeal.

As with any Djrum track, you're kept questioning which way its going to turn, while still remaining firmly locked within his vision. Remarkable stuff.

The 'LA' EP will be released on July 8 via 2nd Drop
