Disney is developing a new High Fidelity TV series
It will star a female lead
Disney are developing a new television series based on the Stephen Frears-directed film adaptation of Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel High Fidelity..
Rather than following the story of a male record store owner, the new series will star a female lead.
Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka, who worked on the Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning Ugly Betty, are writing the treatment. Deadline it’s being “described as a departure from the book and the movie while still capturing the romantic comedy and authentic spirit of the original source materials”, and reveal it will feature fourth wall-breaking addresses to the audience.
The series is being developed to feature on Disney’s forthcoming streaming service.
