Diplo rallies fellow DJs to donate hundreds of thousands to the victims of Las Vegas shooting

Dillon Francis, Tïesto and Steve Aoki have also offered up huge donations

It's been a week since a tragic shooting took the lives of 58 people and injured 500 in a concert crowd in Las Vegas. The event, now deemed the largest mass shooting in the United States, hit home for people all across the world but especially so for many in the music industry.

Diplo took to his socials to convey his distress about the event, explaining that he felt particularly connected since Vegas has become like a second home to him since he often frequents the Nevada city for his DJ residencies.

In a video statement, Diplo announced his donation of $100,000 (his weekend fee) to the victims and their families. He proceeded to challenge other DJs and hotel owners to do the same to give back to the city.

His call-to-action was effective, rallying the support and donations from the likes of Kaskade, The Chainsmokers, Valentino Khan, Dillon Francis (who split $100,000 between Las Vegas victims and Puerto Rico) and Tïesto and Steve Aoki, both of whom doubled down and donated $200,000 each.
