Die Antwoord accuses Suicide Squad director of ripping off their style

Ninja and Yolandi are not happy with DC's top villains

DC Comics' latest summer blockbuster, Suicide Squad, was rolled out to theaters last week to questionable reviews.

Two people who find the film especially distasteful are South African duo Die Antwoord, who have called out director David Ayer for supposedly ripping off their look to create The Joker and Harley Quinn.

Yolandi Visser of the group posted a video to her Instagram account earlier today citing side by side comparisons of her, Ninja and the Suicide Squad characters.

Visser captioned the post with accounts of conversations with Ayer and also mentioned two of the movie's stars, Jared Leto and Cara Delevingne. Her caption also revealed that the director would frequently mention the rap duo on set:

"yes David Ayer u jockin our style [sic]. callin ninja up before your movie came [out] pretendin 2b down, so it looks OK when u bite our black & white graf style & out opening sequence to umshiniwam & all da lil tiny details [you] nibbled dat other people wont see but we notice. Cara & Jared told us how much [you] were talkin [about] us on set but [you] never asked our permission to rip us off."

The artist went on to challenge Ayer to visit the group's studio, exclaiming that they would be waiting for him.
