Denzel Curry calls Drake and Kanye’s recent albums “subpar” in public call out
The US rapper said the pair have “all the resources” to make good records
US-based rapper and recent Mixmag cover star Denzel Curry has criticised Drake and Kanye’s recent albums.
Speaking to SPIN in a recent cover story, Denzel argued that the pair had produced “subpar” albums recently, despite “all the resources” they had to offer.
“I was looking forward to Drake’s album, ‘cause Drake always got something. But then, when you get them albums, you’re like, ‘What the fuck are you doing?’,” the rapper said on the rap giant.

He added: “We don’t even really need to talk about Kanye West, it’s Kanye West. But for them to go out, and go against each other and make that subpar work with the resources they have. These are the same producers it’s hard for me to reach out to because they don’t see the return. You’ve got all these resources, and y’all made subpar albums. I had limited resources, and I made a great one. That shouldn’t happen.”
Denzel also acknowledged older work from Drake, including early albums ‘Take Care’ and ‘If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late’, telling SPIN that these records are the level of quality he still expects from the musician.

Denzel referenced his recently released record ‘Melt My Eyes See Your Future’ which received critical acclaim upon release in March. The rapper told XXL after its release that he was “the best rapper alive”.
“Look out for any of the next projects that’s ’bout to come out. I’m ’bout to shake the whole game up. I don’t care what anybody got to say, bro. I’m the best rapper alive. Point blank, period,” he said.
In March, Denzel Curry appeared on the cover of Mixmag where he spoke about his influences from drum ’n’ bass, challenging police brutality, and the Florida rap scene. Read it here.
