Denon DJ release new software to compliment MCX8000 controller
Engine 1.5 is out now
Denon DJ has unveiled the new Engine 1.5 version of its DJing software, optimised to enhance the performance and versatility of its new hybrid setup, the MCX8000.
A number of features have been incorporated into the programme to achieve this, such as the ability to import hot-cues from an existing Serato DJ database.
The efficiency of categorising music has been improved, with a filtering system that reads tracks’ metadata and can organise them by key signature. Organising huge libraries of up to 100,000 tracks is also now easier, with crate support for over 500 crates with seven sub-crates, and the ability to make 1,000 track playlists.
High-resolution colour waveforms that glow in red, green and blue also provide helpful visual aids for mixing different frequencies.
Speaking about the software, Denon DJ’s Product Manager Ross Goodwin said: “Our latest Engine software is a leap forward in the development of DJ music management. DJs that are free from the restrictions of a laptop still need to play the right music at the right time to engage directly with their audience. Engine 1.5 delivers that capability and establishes an exciting way for DJs to organize and connect with their music library.”
