Demian Licht retells her debut album through forthcoming EP 'HÉMERA Vol.1'
"Practising and mastering the new has brought me a broader, more sophisticated panorama in my artistic decisions. They’ve opened doors and introduced new approaches"
Demian Licht has announced her forthcoming EP, 'HÉMERA Vol. 1', set to land on November 22 via her Motus Records imprint.
In essence, the five-tracker is a retelling of her 2020 debut album 'DIE KRAFT', with a sonic growth influenced by returning from Berlin - a city she relocated to in 2020 - to her hometown of Querétaro, Mexico.

Stimulated by stepping entirely away from any music 'scene', and focusing on other practices (think surfing, contemporary dance and studying language), she suggests that "practising and mastering the new has brought me a broader, more sophisticated panorama in my artistic decisions".
'HÉMERA Vol. 1' therefore takes a less-is-more approach, drawing upon conceptual sound design as per the Mexican's usual methods whilst ensuring a heavier focus on letting each track breathe and speak for itself. Think gliding, introspective soundscapes, off-kilter kicks and - where necessary - sparkling odes to techno.
“'HÉMERA Vol. 1' has a more luminous, more energetic, more celestial essence," explains the Mexican producer. "The main thing for me was to capture on a sonic level my interpretation of the power of light and its relevance in the creation of life itself.”
