Decibel Festival in Seattle will not return in 2016

A loss for the Pacific Northwest's festival circuit

Decibel Festival has been a staple for the Northwest's electronic festival scene since its establishment in 2003. Unfortunately, the festival's founder has announced that Decibel will take on an extended hiatus starting this year.

The five-day festival focused on technology and music - specifically on the underground tip - and replicated experiences like Sónar and Amsterdam Dance Event thanks to its highly diverse and international pool of artists scheduled across multiple days.

Founder of Decibel Sean Horton made the decision to cancel what would have been the 12th annual Decibel due to his own move to Los Angeles to focus on a new position at Red Bull.

"Know that Decibel as an organization will continue and this is temporary and much needed break," he concluded in a statement issued on the official Decibel website. Horton also suggested that though the 2016 edition will not take place, Decibel does have plans for future announcements and updates.
