Deadmau5 issued "cease and desist" order by Ferrari USA over 'purrari'
The Canadian said the manufacturer weren't happy about his custom floor mats and badges
Deadmau5's Nyan Cat-inspired Ferrari 458 has caused such a stir since he first posted images on Facebook that it was surely only a matter of time before the manufacturer got involved. And it's happened.
Apparently a lawyer for Ferrari USA issued the Canadian with a cease and desist order - meaning an activity needs to be halted and not repeated - regarding the custom floor mats and 'Purrari' badges he added to the vehicle.
I wonder if the jackass lawyer at @FerrariUSA who sent us a "cease and desist" letter over the purrari is un-butthurt now that I unwrapped. — deadmau5 (@deadmau5) August 27, 2014
Yeah it was mostly about the custom floor matts and the custom purrari badges. Whatever. It's just a normal ass 458 now. All good. — deadmau5 (@deadmau5) August 27, 2014
As can be seen above, it seems the car has been reverted to its original appearance but that's probably got more to do with the fact that he recently put it up for sale.
Whatever the reason, it'll be sad to see the Purrari go but there's no doubt he's got something equally nuts around the corner.
