DC-10 forced to shut off garden stage due to noise complaints
Police are cracking down on Ibiza clubs this summer due to "excessive noise"
After receiving noise complaints and a warning from local authorities in Ibiza, DC-10 has been forced to shut off its famed garden stage for the foreseeable future.
The club announced the news on Instagram on Monday, July 25, following directions from the municipality of St. Joseph to reduce noise levels after local Ibiza residents and holidaymakers put forward complaints.
"We are unfortunately forced to turn off the music in the garden after the latest requests of the municipality of St. Joseph to reduce the decibels to 75, which is obviously unacceptable. This is an impossible condition for artists to perform,” the club announced.
“DC-10 & CircoLoco voluntarily decided to suspend the music in the garden and continue with the two internal rooms: Terrace and Main Room.”

Last week, DC-10 was made to close due to “circumstances out of its control,” during one of Carl Cox’s first resident gigs at the iconic nightclub.
Noise complaints have come in conjunction with an island-wide crackdown by police this summer during Ibiza’s longest season to date.
Currently, police are reviewing 42 premises in the municipality and have “carried out 22 temporary seals of music equipment so far this year,” according to Periódico de Ibiza y Formentera.
The Ibiza daily also noted that multiple fines have been dispersed during the crackdown ranging anywhere between €600 for “minor offences”, and €300,000 for the more serious offences.
Ibiza’s deputy mayor for Economic Action, Pilar Ribas, said that excessive noise is the most common problem on the island for police. Officers are now reviewing premises most likely to receive complaints.

"Facing the summer, what we do is trying to control, as far as possible, the coexistence between neighbors, tourism and the different activities,” she said.
Josepí City Council has so far received 143 complaints linked to excessive noise from clubs and venues in the municipality, as well as 323 calls for noise “in homes”.
DC-10’s next event is due to go ahead tonight where Carl Cox takes over alongside Laurent Garnier in a b2b. Next week, Amelie Lens will head up her first Ibiza residency at the club.
"We are waiting to understand the real motivations of the authorities behind such unexpected requests," the club added on Instagram.
