David Bowie rejected a Coldplay collaboration

Supposedly Bowie said "it's not a very good song"

There's been resurgence of discussion around David Bowie since his untimely passing about a week ago, and most recently, Coldplay has piped up about their attempt to collaborate with the music legend.

Most are hearing about this suggested collaboration for the first time because unfortunately, the partnership never came to fruition. Will Champion, drummer of the band, explained that Coldplay had once asked Bowie to join the group as a guest vocalist for a song. Bowie responded by saying "It's not a very good song, is it?"

Of course, Champion shared the story with the intent of emphasizing how proud Bowie was of his art, explaining further by saying, "He was very discerning. He wouldn't just put his name to anything."
