Danny Daze announces long-awaited debut album ‘::BLUE::’

The record, 24 years in the making, features Miami staples including Nick León and Jonny From Space

Danny Daze has announced his first-ever full-length album after almost 25 years, titled ‘::BLUE::’.

The record, conceptualised as a 90-minute continuous piece featuring the likes of Miami talent including Nick León, Jonny From Space, Push Button Objects and Deroboter, is due for release next month via the producer’s Omnidisc imprint.

‘::BLUE::’ lands on November 17, 2023, after 24 years in the making. “This is something I’ve always been working towards - I’ve never released an album,” he says on the project.

“I knew what I wanted to do was have the perfect alignment when it came to my sound and what I wanted to represent in my artistry.”

‘::BLUE::’ is an ambitious project focusing on sound design, bringing 24 years' worth of sonic influences together from Miami and beyond. The end result is said to be a cluster of ambient, bass, and skewed IDM.

The record comes alongside a 33-minute audiovisual project which will be shown at planetariums and festivals across the US, first debuted during Art Basel Miami in December 2022.

The audiovisual show - which has spent three years in the works - heads to Miami’s III Points festival later this October, with a residency at The Frost Museum Planetarium in January 2024.

The show is also being turned into an app using Dolby Atmos and VR technology, collaborating with visual artists and platforms Sensory Works, Joseph Nickson, and Konx Om Pax.

“This for me is the representation of audio and its visual delineation. It’s my way of trying to express what’s going on in my head when I make music,” he says.

The first single from the record, ‘Silver Box’ featuring Nick León and Jonny From Space, is out today. Listen here, and find out more about '::BLUE::' here.
