New Daft Punk music confirmed with a film score on the way
Director Dario Argento revealed the French duo are writing the soundtrack to his next film in a new interview
Daft Punk are confirmed to have new music on the way, with Dario Argento revealing the French duo are scoring his new film Occhiali neri, which translates as Black Glasses.

Speaking to Italian publication La Repubblica, the director, whose previous films include Suspiria and Inferno, said Daft Punk are fans of his work and when they learned he was shooting a new film got in contact with a request to work together. He added that the duo are set to send him the first songs soon, and travel to meet him in Rome when it is possible to do so.
The film is set in Rome and the surrounding countryside, and tells an adventure story centred around a Chinese woman and child. Dario’s daughter Asia Argento is in the cast and shooting is hoping to start in September.

Daft Punk have previously composed the soundtrack for 2010 sci-fi action film Tron: Legacy, and their 2001 album ‘Discovery’ was used as the soundtrack to animated sci-fi Interstella 5555.
