Cyphr/Trap Door x Ra's Fatale - 7/10

NYC's PTP has started a 12" series in order to showcase beats made at a slower tempo range. UK risers Cyphr (Her records) and Trap Door and Ra's Fatale (Gang Fatale) turn in the first slice 'o wax, coming at the slo-mo BPMs in two different ways. Cyphr hits two cold, astral rap instrumentals, purring up the bass in a way that'd make Mike Will Made It proud – heavy head-nod stuff designed to be played loud. In contrast, the GF boys draw for two smooth-as-Henny club tracks that come loaded with boogie licks, diamante chimes and seductive whispers.
