Bleepy, freaky techno with a little bit of playfulness

If you've followed CW/A, aka Clockwork and Avatism, since they hooked up in 2013, you'll be fully aware of the murky, pulsating techno they make.

'Modern Conflict Theory' on Vakant Records gives you a pretty clear idea of what the Italians are about, as does the 'Day Of Riddance' brute they released on their label Parachute earlier this year.

It's not just smoky, ghoulish techno they deliver on forthcoming debut album, 'Words Unspoken, Acts Undone', though. As the press release puts it, "Warp-style bass and UK jungle" influences linger, with the 11-tracker conjuring up the charcoal-infused atmospherics they love.

Vibrant bleeps counter the relentless, stomping kicks on 'Mantra', even generating into a playful melody around the halfway point, but playtime's soon over as it falls back into freaky techno territory.

'Words Unspoken, Acts Undone' will be released via Parachute Records on October 16
