The Blade Runner sequel is "phenomenal" and "a masterpiece"

The franchise isn't retired yet

We wouldn’t blame you if you were a little hesitant over the new Blade Runner film. After all, the original is a much-loved cult classic and sequels rarely live up to the hype.

But according to critics, there’s no reason to be so sceptical of Blade Runner: 2049.

The movie starring Ryan Gosling and original protagonist Harrison Ford comes out next week, and those with a sneak preview have taken to Twitter to sing its praises.

Many are crediting the execution of director Denis Villeneuve’s vision, calling it “visually mind-blowing”, “stunningly beautiful” and “breathtaking”.

For those living in the UK, you'll be able to see it in the cinema from October 5.
