Cream announces classical show at Liverpool Cathedral
Expect a load of classics turned into orchestral arrangements
Classic Cream tracks are getting an orchestral makeover next year.
The club brand is teaming up with the Royal Liverpool Philiharmonic Orchestra for a special show at Liverpool Cathedral on April 16, 2016.
According to the press release for the event, a 60-piece orchestra will "perform classical arrangements of some of Cream's classic anthems from the last two decades featuring special guest vocalists and performances."
Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk and Sasha are some of the artists to have played Cream nights over the years, so some of their tracks may feature in the set list compiled by former Cream residents K-Klass.
Tim Crooks, who will conduct at the event, says: " This is an amazing project that unites the musical forces of Liverpool in one massive feast for the ears.
"So many colours and sounds from synthesisers originate from acoustic instruments that there's a clear and exciting sound world that is shared between these two bodies, rich for exploration."
Before then, the Cream finale takes place at Nation on Boxing Day. Head here for tickets.
