Craig Bratley ft. Danielle Moore (Andrew Weatherall remix)

Weatherall mesmerises with a stretched-out, 10-minute remix

Craig Bratley has been carving out a distinct and somewhat peculiar discography since his debut release ‘Free Music’ landed in 2004. The foundations of his tracks are often weighty and driving, leaving the outer layers to go intricately wild.

The release of his debut album ‘Buy The Ticket, Take The Ride’ on Tsuba Records in 2014 came packed full of immersive grooves, acid-flecked thumping and bullish vocal samples, marking Bratley out as an artist in an undefinable field.

His next outing is a three-track EP titled ‘Play The Game’ and arrives through the Magic Feet label he founded. The title-track is a collaboration with Crazy P singer Danielle Moore, who contributes growling-yet-sultry vocals to Bratley’s jagged, electro-tinged disco base.

Heretic and Andrew Weatherall turn in remixes to round out the tracklist. Weatherall stands tall among British dance music’s most prominent figures. He’s been killing it for decades, and shows no signs of stopping now, as this latest offering underlines.

‘Play The Game (Andrew Weatheral remix)’ stretches the track out into a mesmerising, 10-minute masterpiece that goes both minimal and maximal as it traverses through spidery percussive lines and crashing guitar chords. Check it out below.

'Play The Game' is out through Magic Feet on September 16
