Courtesy announces new label, shares first dance music track 'Let The Music Hypnotise You'
The announcement simultaneously marks the end of a different music chapter for Courtesy
Courtesy has launched her new label, Against Interpretation, and released the first track of the imprint, 'Let The Music Hypnotise You', featuring French DJ, singer and creative director Klō aka Soyklō.
The record marks Courtesy's dance-music focussed production debut, and follows on from a string of ambient releases, including the Danish artist's debut album ‘fra eufori’ released in 2023.
It isn't the first time Courtesy has worked with Soyklō, either: the two have previously worked together on piece ‘Gossip II (fra eufori)’, presented last August at Berlin's art gallery Kraupa-Tuskany Zeidler.

As one chapter opens, another closes, and upon announcing Against Interpretation Courtesy has also shared that there will be no further releases on her art-focussed platform Kulør (although previous releases will still remain available):
"Against Interpretation is my new record label and today I will release my first dance music track as Courtesy, a single in the style of powerhouse featuring vocals by the French artist Klō," she explains.
"Over the last year I have loved meeting young dancers and DJs, who I see are open to different genres of dance music and who, like me, believe that high impact on dance floors can come from many different sources and BPMs. The future in dance music is eclectic and I have made Against Interpretation for it.

"I want to thank the long list of musicians, producers, and visual artists who have contributed to Kulør over the years. For my new label, I have borrowed the name ‘Against Interpretation’ from an essay written in 1964 by late American author and intellectual Susan Sontag, which I have been reading obsessively lately. The themes of the text may or may not be relevant for this announcement, I will let the dedicated reader decide.
"A huge thanks to Tiarnan (artist Spray) for many hours of work on the production with me, and to Leo Luchini for all the drum listening sessions, as well as to Young Marco for his indispensable feedback and to my text angle Samuel Haitz and to Dim and Enver Hadzijaj for graphics. And of course thanks to Klō – I love this collaboration unfolding."
'Let The Music Hypnotise You' featuring Klō is available now via Against Interpretation. Check it out here.
