South London community arts space SET Vault to close next month
SET, which reopened in April following a brief hiatus, is now looking for a new home
South London-based community arts venue SET Vault will close next month after four-and-a-half years.
The Woolwich venue shared the news via Instagram yesterday (July 21), confirming that the team have been given notice to leave by the building's owners.
"Over these years, SET Woolwich has been home to over 600 artists, 20 local community groups, SET Vault - our music and performance space, a community canteen, and countless exhibitions in our project spaces," the statement reads.

"It’s been a beautiful and fertile ground for new creative, political and community endeavours to blossom," they continue. "Thank you to everyone who made this space what it was". The team added that a new home for SET will be announced "in the coming weeks".
Founded by the team behind its sister venue, SET Social in Peckham, SET Vault first opened in 2021 as a temporary arts venue in Woolwich.
In April, SET reopened after a brief hiatus, with the team warning that the venue was unlikely to be running "past spring 2026", adding that this would be its "last summer."
While no reason was officially given for SET's closure, upon its return this year it had been issued with a midnight curfew for all music events, asking attendees to be "mindful" of its neighbours while participating in events.

"Maintaining a good relationship with our neighbours is of utmost importance to us," SET said via a statement. "We request that you always respect this when arriving at and leaving the venue".
SET Vault will now host "one final big blowout" closing party on August 8, featuring a "12-hour programme of live music, performances, film screenings, DJ sets, and more."
"Expect activity throughout the building, both inside and outside," the team added via Instagram.
