claire rousay announces new album, 'sentiment'
The sensual-meets-melancholic record is set for release on April 19, with tracks 'head' and 'ily2' available now
claire rousay has announced her forthcoming album 'sentiment' via Thrill Jockey.
Set for release on April 19, the record is modelled as a "meditation" of emotions including loneliness, nostalgia, sentimentality, guilt and sex, with its narrative steered by delicate musicality, vulnerability and unexpected influences.

Accompanying the announcement are two lead singles, 'head' and 'ily2', featuring Hand Habits. 'head' welcomes guitars and strings with percussives and lyrics borrowing from slowcore-esque sounds, whilst 'ily2' acts as the album closer, bringing together the patchworked emotions employed across the album.
“I have been on a quest to communicate my feelings and ideas as clearly as possible lately," rousay explains on the album. "Pop seemed like the way to do that this time."
"This album is a step in a new direction for me," she added on Instagram. "I want to thank all my friends and family who have all listened to dozens of versions of the songs on this record. Your patience is what holds me together."
