Chance The Rapper's debut album may be arriving soon

A two-part collection with a live show too

Don't be mistaken - although his 'Coloring Book' release arrived earlier this year, Chance The Rapper has yet to drop an inaugural full-length album.

'Coloring Book' was merely a mixtape - though a comprehensive one that seemed to fit the album format - but it seems as though the Chicago rapper could soon be readying an actual album release.

"What's next? I'll probably put out an album, that's what I've been thinking about, just between us," Chance revealed in an interview with DJ Semtex on BBC Radio 1Xtra that obviously did not stay between just between them. "I don't know exactly the format every time when I'm making something but a lot of times I have an idea, and I think what I'm working on right now is an album. But I also think it’s in two parts."

He went on to address the confusion between his mixtape and album release format and clarified that his differentiation matches an album release with a live show as well. "My mixtapes have been confused for albums for a long time so it has to be something different," he said, before clarifying that he plans to remain firmly untraditional with the upcoming release. "Something that you can consider an album, it might not be physical, or a disc or something, but an album that comes with its own live show is important."
