Chance The Rapper raises over $100,000 in aid of Chicago’s homeless population
The Warmest Winter is still taking donations until Wednesday
Chance The Rapper and The Empowerment Plan Detroit have raised over $100,000 in their "Warmest Winter" initiative to provide Chicago homeless with winter coats.
The campaign which started on December 16 hit the targeted milestone last Friday, enabling over 1,000 of the water-resistant coats that double as sleeping bags to be produced and distributed to needy people.
Chance took to Twitter to thank those who have supported the initiative, writing: "Thanks to good people we raised over $100,000 in a few weeks for #WarmestWinter."
Fundraising doesn't close until January 13 so you can still donate by heading to the Warmest Winter website now. A number of prizes can be won, including tickets to Chance The Rapper shows and Chicago sporting events.
