Cera Alba - 7/10

'Relativity EP'

We know all about Cera Alba’s quality thanks to the Newcastle-born (and now London-based) producer’s previous releases on Moon Harbour and Viva.

This new, solid four- track EP for Mile End Records is full of useful tackle: opener ‘Erratic Motion’ has active New York drums and an erratic top-line synth that dances about like the ground underneath it is too hot, while ‘Vertigo’ is full-on main-room fodder with its grinding bassline.

‘Bacteria’ is a smoother house cut with a looping bass, snappy drums and vocal chops.

It’s then given to London duo Leftwing and Kody, who deliver a straight-up house jam with their choppy mix.
