CBS Boston thinks 'EDM' is street slang for MDMA

After 36 people were reportedly taken to hospital after an Avicii gig recently, CBS Boston decided to run a WBZ-TV News report on drug use at dance music events. But there was a slight clanger when referring to MDMA, or as Americans like to call it, Molly.

For such a serious report, you'd think news reporter Christina Hager would have been spot on with her research. Apparently not.

Commenting on Boston mayor Marty Walsh's plans to educate youngsters, Hager somewhat embarrassingly gets her slang muddled up: "Part of that education is around the drug molly, also called MDMA or EDM." Oops.

It's not the only comical quote in the news piece with Walsh even bringing US folk/rock singer Billy Joel into the equation.

CBS has removed the report from their YouTube channel, clearly realising their failure to be down with the kids.
