Bwana

Strap in for an expansive, cosmic glide

Bwana is well into weightlifting, and this hobby translates into his music that is underpinned with muscular and driving foundations. He’s also a playful character with a fondness for emoji-filled photoshops, and this equally comes across in his ear for a sparkling and infectious melody.

Through recent releases on Aus Music he’s showcased this talent at combining the two, marking himself out as an important figure among the label’s rich and extensive catalogue. The Akira-inspired EP ‘Capsule’s Pride (Bikes)’ he put out via LuckyMe earlier this year also stands out as one of our favourite releases of 2016, showing remarkable inventiveness.

Next up he’s debuting on Fort Romeau and Ali Tillett’s Cin Cin imprint with a four-track split EP backed with two cuts from Belfast-based producer LOR.

Our favourite on the 12” is Bwana’s ‘Annex, 90’, which steadily grows from a muted kick into an expansive glide through cosmic textures. Check out the premiere below.

‘Cin Cin 04’ is out on October 14, pre-order it now via Phonica Records
