Burning Man's Boeing 747 art car shuts down roads en route to Black Rock City

The epic festival installation travels the west coast

Big Imagination Foundation's 747 Jumbo Jet mobile installation is finally on its way to the deserts of Nevada.

Ambitious in design and size, Big Imagination's 747 creation weights 30,000 pounds, spans 75 feet long and is currently being escorted by a motorcade of highway patrol cars.

The massive piece, which never ended up making it to the transformative event last year, left the morning of August 15 traveling north along State Route 14.

The structure cost an estimated $240,000 to deconstruct, transport and fully rebuild and has roads blocked and shut down due to its enormous frame.

The artist mock-up, seen below, shows the swanky interior of the 747 installation. Complete with lounge and party areas, a vivid multicolored atmosphere and walls covered in striking, intricate art, the kaleidoscope jumbo jet is expected to arrive in the Black Rock desert on Friday.
