Brooklyn Mirage reportedly "bleeding money" as it looks for a new owner
New York's Avant Gardner owns the club, and is reportedly looking to sell to any interested parties
New York club Brooklyn Mirage is in the market for a new owner, BK mag reports.
The club is owned by Avant Gardner, and the non-executive Chairman of the Board Gary Richards was reportedly overheard "talking about how they want to sell Avant Gardner because it's bleeding money, that they're looking to get a buyer, but it's impossible right now."
In the article by Scott Enman, he spoke to an Avant Gardner operations team member who claimed that "if they [the club] don't get bought they'll definitely have to file bankruptcy.
"The company is so broke that certain employees are missing months of back pay and they're not paying any holiday incentive wages. As far as speculation goes from me, this summer is a wash."

BK mag also reported that as of July 3, the New York City's Department of Buildings still had objections to the venue's application for a Temporary Place of Assembly Certificate of Operation, which is obligatory for event spaces where 200 or more people gather outdoors. The $30 million redesigned venue has sat empty for over two months.
The Bushwick club closed for the winter season in November 2024, and was due to reopen on May 1, 2025, with heightened safety measures surrounding the venue, reported Mixmag in March.

Since then, the club has not reopened, and just last week, various July shows such as two dates of Black Coffee's residency was cancelled. Lee Burridge's show on July 13, at the time of writing, still has tickets available for sale, indicating an intention to open for this weekend.
The venue has been plagued with issues behind the scenes as in May, Brooklyn Mirage's CEO Josh Wyatt was fired by the venue, after a short stint at the company that was marked with four weekends of cancelled shows "due to failed safety inspections, unmet construction deadlines, and a worsening relationship with fans," according to BK mag.
Avant Gardner has been contacted for comment.
