Bristol venue The Underground to close at the end of 2026

The venue has been running beneath The Galleries shopping centre since 2021

Bristol venue The Underground has announced that it will close at the end of the year.

The Fairfax Street venue has hosted events beneath The Galleries shopping centre since 2021, but following conversations with the building's owners, it will be forced to close at the end of its AW25 season.

The Underground's last event will be held on New Year's Eve, a drum 'n' bass all-stars party running from 9:PM on December 31 until 5:AM on January 1, 2026.

Also scheduled to perform at the venue this season are Alix Perez, Avalon Emerson, DJ Boring, Interplanetary Criminal, Shy FX, Sim0ne, 1-800 Girls, TSHA, HAAi and more.

"After years of unforgettable nights and incredible music, our journey at this venue is coming to an end,"  The Underground's directors Jack Scales and Luke Turner said in a statement.

"We always knew the space would be temporary, but we were optimistic that we would at least have another year," they continued. "Unfortunately, circumstances beyond our control have accelerated our timeline, forcing us to say goodbye sooner than anticipated.”
