Bristol’s creative studio and venue 395 calls for urgent donations to remain open
The grassroots space is currently facing a legal battle surrounding its license due to noise complaints
Bristol-based grassroots creative studio and music venue 395 is raising funds to keep its doors open.
The space, which is situated just outside the city centre, has been facing an ongoing legal battle with the local council after noise complaints were issued from a neighbouring venue, according to 395.
The fundraiser description explains that this unnamed neighbouring venue claims it “does not want” 395 in the building.

In a recent post on social media - surrounding the NTIA’s warning that all major UK nightclubs will be extinct by 31, December 2029 - the venue also announced that if it does not raise enough money by December this year, “it’s over”.
395 is urging people to donate to its fundraiser as well as to attend its events and volunteer at the space.
All donations are to be spent on the venue's lawyer fees, soundproofing materials, wages for builders and rent.

The fundraiser outlines: “We are in the process of defending our right to remain a legal business that can put on events and run for the foreseeable future, as that is the main income source to keep this space open.”
It continues: “This is a sound issue. We will need to soundproof our roof in order to continue coexisting with our neighbouring venue and to avoid anymore noise pollution clashes between events.”
The venue currently hosts events with local artists from DJs to MCs and collectives, as well as running as a space for workshops, pop-up shops and more.
