Block9 unveils NYC Downlow digital archive

Listen back to sets from the world’s best pop-up club

Block9 has set up an online catalogue containing recorded sets andimages from its beloved Glastonbury stage NYC Downlow. See all the pics here.

The pop-up queer nightspot that replicates a New York meatpacking district club stands out as one of the best aspects of the expansive festival, featuring world-class selectors and transvestite dancers performing colourful routines.

Alongside sets from the likes of Roger Sanchez and Ben Dorling recorded live from NYC Downlow, the site also hosts recordings from other Block9 stages, images from within the club, and a merchandise shop.

Profits made from the website will be donated to The Downlow Radio, a charitable group that funds the likes of HIV AIDS Alliance and Medecins Sans Frontières.

Future Block9 plans include a new pop-up event space in London that is expected to spread to various European cities.

Head to NYC Downlow’s website to get stuck in to the archive now, and head here to check out our gallery of classic images from the club.
