Block9 announces its line-up for Glasto 2016

Worthy Farm's underground arena takes shape

Block9, the hedonistic corner of Glastonbury festival where a plethora of underground DJs play, has announced its line-up.

The arena is known for its dystopian setting, which includes a 50ft Blade Runner-esque building (and outdoor dancefloor) Genosys, a fucked old tower block with a train crashed into its side called London Underground and legendary gay club NYC Downlow, which is one of the best venues in the world (trust).

While Glasto's Silver Hayes arena plays host to an on-point but slightly glossier bunch of DJs, Block9 is where things get proper deep 'n dirty.

Genosys welcomes DJ Deeon, Joey Beltram and Seth Troxler, as well as a Prince tribute by Hot Chip while London Underground goes ham on low-end frequencies with Youngsta, Shy FX and Nicky Blackmarket. NYC Downlow brings in The Black Madonna, Tama Sumo, Prosumer and a very special deep house set from Roger Sanchez.

Organisers also promise that NYC Downlow will boast a new room, The Meat Rack, and confirm that the venue's legendary queer performance artists will be back in full force. Each night has a different fancy dress theme too, from Sauna Party to Leather XXX Fetish.
