'Blade Runner OST' composer Vangelis to release composition boxset
The 13-album release arrives next February
Vangelis is releasing an extensive box set titled ‘Delectus’, compiling a number of his historic works.
It’s due out on February 3, and arrives as a deluxe box comprising rare photos, essays and a booklet detailing his time as a Polydor/Vertigo artist alongside 13 CD albums of his compositions.
Featured pieces include ‘L’Apocalypse Des Animaux’, ‘China’, ‘Opera Sauvage’, ‘Chariots of Fire’ and ‘Invisible Connections’ and his collaborations with Jon Anderson.
Unfortunately the ‘Blade Runner OST’ is not included in the ensemble that is coming out through Polydor and Vertigo, as it only includes material licensed to those labels.
It’s still a fine collection for any Vangelis fan to pick up, with the pioneering artist supervising the remastering process. Speaking about this process, he said: “I always welcome remastering my old work, for two basic reasons. Firstly, I get the opportunity to bring the sounds to today’s standards. Secondly, it gives me the chance to go through the experiences and memories of the time.”
