Berghain bouncer Sven Marquardt to exhibit work in Australia
Rub shoulders with the notorious doorman over a glass of champagne
The work of Berghain head bouncer Sven Marquardt will be on show at an upcoming exhibition in Australia.
Aside from manning the door at one of the world's best clubs, Marquardt is also an accomplished photographer and he'll be hosting two separate exhibitions in Melbourne and Sydney next year. It's all part of an 'Urban Subcultures' theme the Australian branch of German cultural institution the Goethe-Institut is currently focussing on, which explores 'the challenges subculture faces in urban areas.'
Ableton Live co-developer and Monolake member Robert Henke's 'Lumiere II' is also tied in with 'Urban Subcultures', as are performances from Monolake and a series of panel talks featuring DJ and Love Parade founder Dr Motte. Marquardt will be attending exhibition opening nights in both cities, for those wanting to rub shoulders with the world's most notorious doorman over a glass of champagne.
