Banksy’s ‘snorting copper’ painting in London has been restored
It was unearthed by property developers
An original Banksy work has been restored at it’s original home in East London.
The stencil, nicknamed the ‘snorting copper’, was originally stenciled on a toilet building at 115 Curtain Road in Shoreditch and was thought to be lost after it was vandalized, leading to Hackney Council covering it up.
However, two property developers that bought the building rediscovered the infamous illustration and have now restored and returned the piece to its original resting place.
After cutting it out of the wall, it took a specialist in Carlisle 16 weeks to restore the original, which is valued at £1.25 million, before it was returned to its original home and secured to the floor in a reinforced case.
Unfortunately it doesn’t get us any closer to finding out who Banksy really is, although Goldie has an idea.
