BabyStep announces series of events for local creatives
The Leeds-based studio will be running a variety of opportunities over the coming months
Leeds-based platform BabyStep has announced a series of workshops, panels, interviews, screenings, streams and events from their city-centre studio, with the aim of harbouring the area’s local creative talent.
It follows on from their recent events and parties, which the platform is popular for in Leeds, at local venue Freedom Mills.
The first phase of the series involves the studio’s official reopening with an official t-shirt launch event, where local DJs will be playing and art exhibited.

Following plans announced include a fundraising stream coined ‘Last Night A DJ’, with further opportunities for local creatives to follow.
On the announcement, BabyStep’s Josh Crowe told Mixmag: “Being able to return to live events and open the studio has given us a real lifeline. We know people can’t always make it down to events, so our T-Shirt launch has also been a way people can help support the ongoing work of BabyStep”
“We want to use the studio space to actively work with collectives, DJs, artists, labels and charities and help promote the array of burgeoning talent throughout the country. We really hope this series of workshops helps spread the word of the work we do, attracting collaboration and potential sponsors who can help push us to the next level as a platform that supports upcoming creatives not only in Leeds, but throughout the UK”.
