Avalon Emerson & The Charm announce self-titled debut album
The record is due for release this April
Avalon Emerson & The Charm, a new collaborative project between Avalon and London-based producer Bullion, have announced the release of their debut record landing this April.
The self-titled album heads to Avalon Emerson’s new label Another Dove launched in partnership with AD93 and Whites founder Nic Tasker on April 28.
Following January’s ‘Sandrail Silhouette’, the first release from the new project, Avalon Emerson & The Charm gear up to release a brand new single titled ‘Hot Evening’ this Friday, March 3.

“‘Hot Evening’ is a stamped passport,” Avalon says on the new release. “It’s a series of diary entries, home movies, and polaroids. It’s the moment of calm when 200 adults all partake in group snack time and nap time at 35 thousand feet.”
"It’s seeing the same sun set over a new city skyline. It’s wondering if I’ve spent my youth on too many proverbial and literal moving sidewalks, going forward sure, but to where? and will there just be another long terminal to cross when I arrive?”
According to the pair, the sonic inspiration for their next track comes from Todd Edwards, the Magnetic Fields, and the Chordettes.

“Unlike Sandrail, where disparate sketches slid together into a final version quickly, Hot Evening hovered around 75% done for over a year, ebbing and flowing into different shades of complete until the final touches came together right at the deadline,” she added.
Avalon and Bullion’s new project hopes to fuse electronica and indie, they said in January following its launch. The pop-leaning debut record was penned during Avalon’s extended break from DJing and will step away from her previous productions.
