Australia's Rainbow Serpent announces line-up

Big plans for the festival's 20th anniversary

Australia's Rainbow Serpent celebrates 20 years in 2017 and the first round of artists playing its anniversary edition have just been announced.

Simon Posford will be playing in both Shpongle and Hallucinogen modes, Extrawelt will make their Rainbow debut with a live set, and Ott & The All-Seeing I, D-Nox & Beckers, Perfect Stranger and Avalon have also been named.

Festival Director Tim Harvey said organisers had assembled their best line-up yet.

“We’ve certainly grown a lot in twenty years," he said. "From one music stage to six as well as international speakers, workshop spaces, art galleries, kid’s area and one of the biggest outdoor markets in Australia."

About 15,000 festival-goers will hit up next year's Rainbow, which takes place near Lexton, Victoria, about two hours drive from Melbourne, from January 27 to 30.
