Astrid Andersen AW16

The designer takes a different approach for the upcoming season

As part of the RedBull Catwalk Studio, Astrid Andersen teamed up with Brodinski to create a bespoke soundtrack for the show.

The collection itself featured no theme, as Andersen set out to create an authentic expression of her personal vision, rather than satisfy a theme.

While still maintaing a contemporary streetwear aesthetic, the focus was on fabrics, which resulted in Andersen creating a range of strong, standalone looks from fabrics such as quilted nylons, polyamide, luxury wools and denims, as well as Linton Tweeds; one of the UK's oldest mills.

As well as her continued work with Sophie Hallette lace, artisan Danish carpet makers Egetæpper also collaborated with the designer to create the carpet for the runway.
