Art from Burning Man will be on display at The Smithsonian
An entire exhibition dedicated to the Playa
Beyond music, Burning Man is known for its extravagant, otherworldly and often larger-than-life displays of artwork. Though most live on past the week-long festival through photos, now several select pieces will find a new spotlight in the hallowed Smithsonian museum.
The Smithsonian's Renwick Gallery will showcase several Burning Man pieces, including Duane Flatmo's Tin Pan Dragon (pictured), Richard Wilks' Evotrope and Shrumen Lumen from FoldHaus, the aptly-titled glowing mushroom display that responds to human interaction.
Of course, since many of the art pieces are large, the Smithsonian explains that the 'No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man' exhibition will take over the Renwick Gallery and its surrounding neighborhoods until January 21, 2019 and will also showcase jewelry, costumes as well as photos.
The Smithsonian is located in Washington D.C. Find more info here.
