Argentina's techno haven Cocoliche reopens after three years
A strong statement in a turbulent time for nightlife in the country
After closing in 2013, iconic nightclub Cocoliche will reopen its doors in Buenos Aires at the end of this month.
The techno destination hosted artists like Marcel Dettmann, Perc, Lucy and Function during its reign, making it one of Argentina's premier underground venues.
With world-renowned clubs like Fabric closing and growing administrative resistance against nightlife in Argentina, owner and club resident Adolfo Cortes, also known as Udolph, recognized the importance of a triumphant second coming.
"Cocoliche will return to its roots. Our booking programme will be unlike anything offered today in Argentina. At a time when the city is shouting loud for change and action, Cocoliche is reopening."
The music hotspot will be located in the same location, with a crisp, revamped soundsystem and minor decor updates. Udolph has also chosen to introduce a new membership system that gives club-goers access to all of Cocoliche's events for its first year.
Although there may be a few extra specs, Cocoliche promises to stay true to its underground spirit and revered taste.
