Aphex Twin to perform his first gig in the US in eight years

The last time he performed in the US was Coachella 2008

Experimental music heads in the US are rejoicing as Aphex Twin is planning to grace the stage once again.

Announcing the news via a cryptic message posted to his Twitter, Aphex Twin shared the trailer for Day for Night, a two-day music festival in Houston that plans to announce its line-up tomorrow.

The news was then confirmed by festival producer Omar Afra via Billboard: “We can indeed confirm Aphex Twin is performing at Day for Night. This is the second moon landing for Houston.”

Since he last performed in the United States, Aphex Twin has won a Grammy for Best Electronic Album with ‘Syro’ and recently released his critically acclaimed ‘Cheetah’ EP. He’s also revisited his Mike & Rich project with µ-Ziq as they reissued their sole album, 'Expert Knob Twiddlers', with a collection of unreleased tracks.

Day for Night is set to take place on December 16 and 17 in Houston. Watch the promo video via Aphex Twin’s Twitter post below.
