Aphex Twin confirmed as Field Day headliner

He’ll play a “brand new state of the art” stage at the festival

After a guerrilla marketing campaign involving Aphex Twin-branded scratch cards sent rumours into overdrive this weekend, the iconic producer has been confirmed to play London festival Field Day on June 3, 2017.

He’ll headline The Barn, the festival’s “brand new state of the art” indoor second stage, with a two-hour set. It’s described by the organisers as “a giant metal construction that will host major electronic performances with cutting-edge lighting and sound.”

It marks the Rephlex co-founder's first Aphex Twin-billed show in the UK for almost a decade, although he performed two sets at Glastonbury in 2014, one unannounced in the Glade Area and one as AFX in The Temple.

Speaking about the booking, Field Day co-founder Tom Baker said “it will be a phenomenal, mind blowing, mesmerisingly, fantastic two hours of absolute genius.”

Tickets for the festival go on sale at 9am on Thursday, December 1, via Ticketweb. Head to Field Day’s website for further details.
